Estimate the number of solar panels required
To calculate accurately, we need to look a little deeper into this and put the numbers realistically in our formula.
Consider the following example:
Each year, an average business unit consumes about 25,000-kilowatt hours (kilowatt-hours) of electricity. It can be said that an intermediate business unit uses 70 kWh per day.
So the next question that arises is how much electricity can solar panels produce?
An average solar panel produces a maximum power of approximately 250 watts.
Of course, you should know that the actual amount depends primarily on the solar panel’s design efficiency.
Finally, you need to know how much sunlight is received daily by your solar panels.
In the United States, solar panels’ amount of sunlight is estimated at 4 to 6 hours per day.
Figure 3 shows the formula required to calculate the average number of solar panels required; the total kilowatt required divided by the number of solar panels.
For example, now, in this formula, medium quality panels of 250 watts are considered.
So we conclude that an average business using an average amount of electricity needs approximately 70 medium quality solar panels to provide 100% of the power it needs.
